If you are using an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, then you already knew that Apple ID is required to make any purchase in the App Store or iTunes Store.
You also need to link the Apple ID account to your iPhone, iPad or iPod to use services from Apple, such as sending or receiving iMessages and FaceTime calls, sending or receiving Mail with a specific email account (email@example.com, or firstname.lastname@example.org), making backups to iCloud, purchase apps, songs & videos from the Apple Store or iTunes Store.
