Microsoft will officially release the Windows 10 on July 29th, and the Windows 10 updates are automatically updated and required for many users. If you are using Windows 10 Home edition, Microsoft won’t let you disable Windows Update. Follow the Windows 10 Home’s license terms, users must let Microsoft install updates automatically.
—According to Microsoft—
The software periodically checks for system and app updates, and downloads and installs them for you. You may obtain updates only from Microsoft or authorized sources, and Microsoft may need to update your system to provide you with those updates. By accepting this agreement, you agree to receive these types of automatic updates without any additional notice.
Microsoft prevented you to disable Windows Update in all Windows 10 Technical Preview versions in the past, but users just think that was because it’s Technical Preview version and it’s not the case.
Not like Windows 10, users are able to turn off, disable or select ways how the update are applied in all previous versions of Windows. But in the newest version of Windows, there is no ability to do that, except Windows 10 Enterprise.
