At the WinHEC conference today, the minimum RAM must have to run Windows 10 for Phone is 512MB and at least 4GB of internal storage. The company also recommended manufacturers to implement microSD card slot to expand the storage and this is also a requirement point if the phone has only 4GB storage.
Moreover, the Windows 10 for Phone is supported 2K display with maximum of 2,560 x 2,048 pixels and display size from 3-inch to 7.99-inch with numerous of resolution, including QSXGA (2,560 x 2,048), WXQGA (2,560 x 1,600) and QWXGA (2,048 x 1,140) … so on.
If the smartphone comes with a QSXGA display, it must have at least 4GB of RAM, while WXQGA display is need 3GB of RAM, and 2GB RAM for full HD display (1080p) or 1GB RAM for QHD (960 x 540), HD display (720p).
In case of CPU, the Microsoft’s Windows 10 for Phone is supporting for many SoC, including Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, Snapdragon 808, Snapdragon 615, Snapdragon 210, Snapdragon 208 as well as Intel CPU Atom x3, x5, x7, Intel Skylake.
