The first Ubuntu Aquarius E4.5 phone will launch next week


Called the Aquarius E4.5 Ubuntu Edition, this upcoming Ubuntu-based smartphone is a result of the partnership between Canonical with Spanish consumer electronics and BQ software development company.

Powered by a quad-core MediaTek CPU with 1GB RAM, the Aquarius E4.5 Ubuntu Edition has 8GB of onboard storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera that uses BSI sensors and Largan lens, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and features a 4.5-inch multitouch display.

If you want to buy this upcoming Ubuntu-based smartphone, it will be available in the European market for 169.90 EURO in next week. Unfortunately, there’s no word for other markets yet.
