Samsung has announced a new SSD product called the SM951 for ultra-slim notebook and workstations, to deliver high performance, increased differentiation and work with low-powered PCI Express interface.
The SM951 SSD supports for both PCI Express 3.0 and PCI Express 2.0, deliver up to 1,600 MB/s for reading and 1,350 MB/s for writing when you use with PCI Express 2.0, that’s three times faster than latest SATA-based SSD.
It also delivers up to 2,150MB/s for reading and 1,550 MB/s for writing with the PCI Express 3.0 interface, has L1.2 low power standby mode which allows all high-speed circuits to be turned off when your PC is in hibernation or on sleeping mode.
Based on the 10-nm MCL NAND flash, the Samsung SM951 comes in the M.2 form factor and weigh only 6 gram, it’s suited for most notebooks, ultrabooks and tablets; and has various of storages: 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
Unfortunately, there’s no word for the pricing at this moment.
